I'm going to be real with you - I've never been a fan of labels. I'm no good at defining myself because I'm a lot of things and I'm constantly growing, changing and evolving from one moment to another. I'm a different person yesterday than I am today and on top of that I've always found labels to be very constricting. So instead of telling you who I am, I'm going to tell you what I do. I practice Yoga. I work in TV as a Producer. I like to cook healthy, plant based, gluten free meals. And I created Namaste Me as a way to help you live a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life!
All children have a story - memories they remember about what their childhood was like, how they grew up and who their friends were. Stories about hitting puberty, their first kiss, graduating high school, etc. Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I don't have stories. I do! I have tons and tons of stories about my childhood! But the one story I could never get rid of was how unhappy I was.
I spent my childhood being the shy, timid kid who wanted to be more outgoing, to be more friendly, to be less afraid. But I didn't know how to get out of my own head. And when my teenage years hit that timid, shy kid became a timid, shy and depressed kid, who also suffered from anxiety and disordered eating. In fact, the depression lingered through my early 20s. And It wasn't until I refused to give myself anything less than total love and acceptance that a cord finally switched.
For the first time in my life, I was happy! I didn't know that this place existed because I was so used to watching other people feel happy while I watched on the sidelines, not knowing how to participate.
So why am I telling you all of this?
I'm telling you because I want you to know that I'vebeen there! I've been where you are right now. I've been self deprecating. I've been too much in my own head. I've been depressed. I've suffered from disordered eating. And I get.
My journey has lead me to discover a variety of tools that I now use on a daily basis. And I'm here to share them with you. The big shift came once I started by meditating. I meditated in group settings to start and then on my own. I learned to listen to my inner guidance and once I started I couldn't stop. I had entered a new world filled with magic and mysticism. I started listening to my inner guide, my soul and she led me to read every self help and wellness book I could get my hands on. From there I discovered the Chakras, Meditation, Astrology, Shamanism, Yoga, Trance Meditation, and Ritual Ecstatic Body Postures.
Now, I am a student of A Course In Miracles and I've incorporate meditation, exercise, yoga and a plant based diet into my daily life. Am I perfect? No. I don’t believe in perfection, just like I don't believe in labels. I believe that each and every one of us is different and we all deserve inner happiness. Finding it is a process that takes time, love and self care.
I found it by finally learning to let down my guard and owning my inner glow. When I'm stressed, burned out, anxious or upset I stop and focus on doing something that makes me feel truly happy. That's why I started Namaste Me - to help you discover the same glow and light I did.
